How to Use L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss

Colouring my hair was something I was very keen on doing for the longest time. But two things always held me back - the cost and the time taken.

But I never wanted to give it a try at home either as I was concerned about the mess it would create, when a friend persuaded me to try doing this at home on my own. Thanks to her, today I am a home-made hair colour expert.

So to everyone who is terrified of trying to do this at home, let me help you!

To begin with, start with the L’Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss Hair Color. It’s super-easy, non-fussy, and really gives your hair that glossy, shiny look.

Here are the things you will need:

  1. L’Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss Hair Color - Any colour of your choice (I always use the Regular Ebony Black colour)

  2. An old piece of cloth, preferably an old T-shirt or any cloth of similar thickness to avoid staining

  3. A spray bottle

  4. A hair colouring kit which includes combs and brushes for the process

Before I start with the process, let me tell you what the L’Oreal hair colour box contains. It has the following:

  1. A developer cream - This is an oxidant cream product which helps open up the hair cuticle

  2. Creme Colorant - This is the hair colour you will apply to your hair strands

  3. An instructions pamphlet - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU START!

  4. A pair of gloves

Notes:

→ Please remember that hair colour is very strong and once it stains your clothing it is impossible to get it off. So please wear dark coloured (preferably black) clothes and keep yout tidy-whities away!

→ Also, do a patch test at least 48 hours before applying it to your hair. This means apply the color on a tiny part of your body and see how your skin reacts. If you get an adverse reaction, please don’t go ahead with it. However, it is important to note that products these days are ammonia-free and not harmful to use.

→ If your skin comes into contact with any part of your body during the process of colouring, make sure that you wipe it off with a cotton ball to avoid stains on your skin.

→ Before you start applying the hari colour, apply a bit of oil such as coconut oil or a moisturizer on your neck, ears, and behind the ears, so that the colour does not stick to the skin near the hair.

Coloring Your Hair At Home -

Step 1: Wet your hair but don’t let it drip. Make sure it is detangled and dried gently with a towel so that application of the hair color is smooth.

Step 2: Wear your hand gloves and pour the creme colorant into the developer cream bottle and close the lid tightly. Shake the bottle well so that the developer and colorant mix well together.

Step 3: Start by parting your hair into smaller sections and hold them in place using hair clips. To colour your grey hairs, you may need to make even smaller sections.

Step 4: Snip the tip of the developer bottle using scissors (use a small scissor because the hole at the tip should not be very broad). Now apply the creme on different sections of your hair, little by little. Make sure you spread them evenly till the ends.

Step 5: Evenly spread the creme gloss on all sections of your hair. If you are merely doing touch-ups on coloured hair, then ensure that you focus on the area near the roots.

Step 6: Once you finish colouring, tie your hair with a big clip and allow the Casting Creme Gloss to work on your hair for anywhere between 20-30 minutes, depending on the length of the hair and the amount of greys you have.

Step 7: After this, wash your hair with lukewarm water. Make sure you rinse it really well, 2-3 times if needed, to remove any residues from the hair colour. Now dry your hair gently with a towel

Step 8: After this, apply the conditioner that came with the pack. Make sure you avoid applying the conditioner to the roots. Leave it for 2-3 minutes and rinse it off with cold water. Let your hair dry naturally and say hello to your shiny new coloured hair!
